This is the first matchup between second-year quarterbacks J.J. McCarthy and Michael Penix since they met in the College Football National Championship game.

McCarthy led three touchdown drives in the fourth quarter for the come from behind victory in his first NFL start. The Vikings will look to carry that momentum against a Falcons defense that allowed Baker Mayfield to a 99.3 rating in week one with three touchdown passes.
