The Green Bay Packers (2-0) will have their first road test of the season in week three when they take on the Cleveland Browns (0-2). Green Bay has had a dream start to their season, knocking off their division rivals and a team who played in the NFC Championship Game.
Cleveland, however, has gotten off to a rough 0-2 start and have made their quarterback decision clear for week three.

After two straight losses to start the season, many are wondering when Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski will consider changing the quarterback:
Cleveland was blown out by the division rival Ravens on Sunday, 41-17, with quarterback Joe Flacco finishing 25-of-45 with a TD, an interception and a costly fumble against his former team before being pulled for rookie Dillon Gabriel in garbage time.
The third-round pick out of Oregon hit on all three of his pass attempts for 17 yards and his first NFL touchdown when he got in the game. But obviously things were already well out of hand at that point.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Stefanski was asked if the team’s slow start has him rethinking his decision to go with the 40-year-old Flacco as Cleveland’s QB1.
“No,” Stefanski said, via The Athletic’s Zac Jackson. “I don’t think it’s fair to talk about that right now. We win as a team. We lose as a team. … I don’t think we did good enough.”

Flacco himself was also asked about the Browns potentially going in a different direction. To which the Super Bowl LVII MVP replied: “I can’t worry about that stuff anyway. It’s honestly not on my mind. I gotta go out there and just play my game, play the way I know how to lead this team the best I can.”
Despite the rough start, Stefanski sees the Browns’ early struggles as learning experiences and says that his guys aren’t going to throw in the towel just because they’re in an 0-2 hole.
“It’s early in the football season. Win, lose, or draw, you’ve got to learn from these things and move on. It is what it is,” Stefanski said, via 92.3 The Fan. “It’s frustrating when you lose, when you get beat like we got beat. Nobody’s hiding from it. I know what these guys are about… we’ll just get back to work.”
Cleveland is 40-46 under the two-time Coach of the Year since he first took over in 2020 and they’ve made the playoffs twice under his watch. They’re also coming off a 4-13 season though and may need to see what they have in their two rookie QBs should things go off the rails.
Gabriel would almost assuredly be next in line if the Browns were to make a change this fall. Now it’s just a matter of when they might decide to hand over the keys to one of their young signal-callers if the future starts to look brighter than the present.
