Michigan’s all-time rushing touchdowns leader has finally found the end zone in the NFL.
Los Angeles Rams 2024 third-round pick Blake Corum bulldozed his way across the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown rush in the team’s 33-16 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The 5-foot-8, 210-pounder had five carries in the game and finished with a career-high 44 rushing yards. He also had three kick returns for 80 yards.
His score gave the Rams (2-0) a 33-16 lead in the fourth quarter. As a rookie in 2024, Corum played in all 17 games but played sparingly on offense behind starter Kyren Williams.
He totaled 58 carries for 207 yards but didn’t find the end zone.
In Week 1 of 2025, he played 17% of snaps and had one carry for 2 yards while catching one pass for 14 yards in a victory over the Texans. His snap share increased to 30% Sunday.
“Everyone’s journey is different and I’m so thankful that this is the journey that I’m on, learning from a great running back like Kyren, having Coach [Ron Gould] teach me so much from last year and then going into Year 2,” Corum said via the Orange County Register. “But it felt great to get into the end zone today, and hopefully there’s many more to come.”
The former four-star recruit from Virginia had a decorated career with the Wolverines, setting the program record with 58 rushing touchdown and finishing seventh in rushing yards (3,737). He was instrumental in helping Michigan win a national title in 2023, rushing for a single-season Big Ten record 27 touchdowns.
“I was really pleased with Blake,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said. “He’s explosive, he’s a good football player. I have a lot of trust in him. We’ll continue to see that moving forward.”
Corum wasn’t the only former Wolverine to accomplish a career first in the Rams’ victory. Rookie third-round pick Josaiah Stewart recorded his first sack when the game was tied at 13 with just under five remaining in the third quarter. Stewart totaled two tackles and two quarterback hits.
