Bills QB Josh Allen Opens Up About Bloody Injury vs Jets

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills were able to dominate their Week 2 matchup against the AFC East rival New York Jets, knocking them off by a final score of 30-10. With the win, they moved to 2-0 on the young season.

It wasn't much of a game all the way through, although there was a major injury scare for the Bills.

Buffalo fans all held their breath after Allen exited the field with blood gushing from his nose. He wasn't out long, but seeing a superstar quarterback leave bleeding is never a good feeling.

Here is a video of the play that caused the injury:

Following the win, Allen spoke out about the injury during his post-game press conference.

"We can breathe, so it's good," Allen said. "I don't know what hit me, it was a knee, it was a hand, it was somebody. Helmet just kind of came down right on the bridge of my nose and just started leaking."

Throughout the course of the game, Allen did not play as well as fans have come used to seeing from him. He completed 14 of his 25 pass attempts for 148 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. On the ground, he picked up 59 yards on six attempts.

Not seeing a touchdown from Allen either through the air or on the ground is not normal. However, the Bills scored plenty of points to carry the win.

Defensively, Buffalo was great. The defense held the Jets to just 154 total yards. That side of the football has been the Bills' biggest question mark this season.

If the defense can continue playing at that level, Buffalo will love its chances to make a deep postseason run. Allen and the offense had plenty of room to play better against New York, which could have made the final score look even worse.

All of that being said, Bills fans would rather not live through another injury scare with Allen. Should he go down, their Super Bowl chances would go down with him.

Thankfully, it was just a scare and nothing more. Buffalo will now shift its attention to Week 3 where it will take on the AFC East rival Miami Dolphins at home.
