Manchester United would have hoped for a stronger return after the international break, but instead suffered a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Derby.
A first-half strike from Phil Foden and a second-half brace from Erling Haaland condemned United to their second defeat in four games, following on from their 3-2 home win over Burnley before the break. City had also suffered a poor start to the season before Sunday's clash, losing two of their first three games in the Premier League.
Ruben Amorim's side will return to Old Trafford next weekend, facing Chelsea on Saturday (5:30pm). The west Londoners were held to a 2-2 stalemate at Brentford at the weekend.
Players are continuing to work hard to regain full fitness, and this week could be significant in that process.
With that in mind, the Manchester Evening News has taken a look at the latest injury news from the United treatment room.
Matheus Cunha
Injury: Hamstring.
The Brazil international picked up the injury during United's 3-2 win over Burnley before the international break.
What Amorim has said: "They (Cunha, Mason Mount and Diogo Dalot) are out for this game (vs Manchester City), I don’t know how long it’s going to take, we need the guys to be a very, very competitive team. We have players who are eager but they are out, they cannot help us in this game.
"We will manage day by day but they are pushing really hard. And that is a good thing."
Potential return date: September 20 vs Chelsea (H).
Lisandro Martinez
Injury: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The Argentina international has been sidelined with an ACL injury since February but has now returned to training. Typically, ACL injuries require around eight months of recovery, meaning he could return next month but it's uncertain as things stand.
P otential return date: Unknown.
Diogo Dalot
Injury: Muscle.
Dalot was forced to withdraw from the Portugal squad last week, with the Portuguese Football Federation confirming it was due to 'muscle discomfort.'
Potential return date: September 20 vs Chelsea (H).
Mason Mount
Injury: Unknown.
Mount was taken off at half-time in the game against Burnley. Having missed the Manchester Derby on Sunday, there is hope that he midfielder is now nearing a return.
Potential return date: Unknown.
