Barcelona youngster vows to make his opportunities count – ‘Will give my all every chance I get’

FC Barcelona secured a thumping 6-0 victory over Valencia on Sunday night in what was a dominating performance from start to finish.

Hansi Flick fielded a much-changed lineup, with some changes being forced and some being tactical. One such forced change saw Marc Casado start alongside Pedri in midfield in the absence of Frenkie de Jong and Gavi, both unavailable through injury.

The midfielder, who celebrated his 22nd birthday this weekend, made the most of his chance, putting up a fine display where he controlled things from the centre, allowing the likes of Pedri and Fermin Lopez more freedom to wreak havoc.

Casado vows to keep continuing

Speaking to the media after the game, Casado insisted that he will continue fighting for his spot in the team and will give his everything each time he gets an opportunity to defend the Barcelona colours.

“For me, every game is important. Defending these colours always is, whatever the game,” said Casado, as quoted by SPORT.

“I will give my all every chance I get and make the most of every minute on the pitch,” the midfielder insisted.

Talking about the team’s performance and how they were able to play the way they always want to, the La Masia graduate remarked:

“Today, the team came out with clear ideas. We knew we had to get the three points, and we knew how to shake up the opposition.”

Following the 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano before the international break, it was important for Barcelona to make a statement, and Casado insisted that the team must now find a way to maintain this level and stay consistent.

“We’ve been able to play our game and reconnect with the fans this season,” he stated.
