Former Steelers Pro Bowl QB turns back the clock in vintage performance

Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson shined with the New York Giants despite the team falling 40-37 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Wilson threw for 450 yards and three touchdowns, but an overtime interception helped the Cowboys get into position for a game-winning field goal and nail the game down. Even still, it was not just one of the best games for Wilson in recent memory, but one of the best overall games of his entire career.

After the game, Wilson noted that he heard a ‘lot of noise’ coming from outside the building and wanted to shut that down.

This game meant a lot to me. It was time to answer the call," Wilson said. “So that for me was important to do that. Not for anyone else, but for myself.”

Wilson’s interception still cast a cloud over the entire game, and it was something that many will point to, but his overall performance at least quieted the calls for rookie Jaxson Dart to get onto the field.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll has shown confidence in Wilson as the veteran leader for the team, and it seems going forward that will continue if Wilson can perform like he has to to this point.
