Tottenham have been keeping tabs on LOSC Lille’s teenage sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi
After finishing 17th in the Premier League last season, change at the helm became inevitable. Ange Postecoglou, despite winning the Europa League was sacked, and replaced by Thomas Frank.
Not including signings that were at the club on loan last season, Thomas Frank oversaw the arrivals of Kota Takai, Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha, Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani. Spurs splashed big on Simons and Kudus to give their squad a much-needed boost of flair and creativity, given the injury problems that have been encountered by both James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
In the post-Daniel Levy era, it looks like the club’s hierarchy have already started planning for the future.

Tottenham carry out checks on LOSC Lille prodigy
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are among the Premier League clubs to have carried out checks on LOSC Lille sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi. Aston Villa and Brighton are also interested, while Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have sent scouts to watch the young talent.
Ayyoub Bouaddi has emerged as one of France’s biggest talents over the past 12 months. The midfielder started seven of Lille’s 10 Champions League games last term and clocked over 1000 minutes in Ligue 1, impressing with his technical ability and maturity. Despite being only 17, he was not fazed playing in the biggest European competition.
Bouaddi’s talent has not unsurprisingly gone unnoticed across Europe, with Real Madrid Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig believed to be keeping tabs. The aforementioned report adds AC Milan have positioned themselves at the front of the queue to bag his signature, preparing to make a determined push and hoping that their project in place could lure him away to San Siro.

Spurs have to wait to get Bouaddi until his 18th birthday
Tottenham and other English clubs have to wait to sign Bouaddi until he turns 18 next year, which means the youngster has a full season ahead of him to continue his development and enhance his stock across Europe. The midfielder, who has started the new Ligue 1 campaign well, is contracted to Lille until 2027. Lille want to extend his contract by offering him improved terms, but Premier League clubs are financially stronger and may look to test their resolve next year.
From Spurs’ perspective, signing a sublime talent like Bouaddi with massive potential would represent a great future investment. He’d be another young addition to the midfield after the arrivals of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray last year, future proofing the area of the pitch. The France under-21 international has the technical quality, imagination and calmness to cut the mustard in the Premier League, although if signed, he would require time to get used to its pace and physicality.
All in all, the Lilywhites must try their best to lure Bouaddi away from Stade Pierre Mauroy at the end of the season.
