The Cincinnati Bengals are off to a 2-0 start after their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Bengals seem to have finally managed to avoid getting off to a slow start to begin the season, as they look to get back to the playoffs after a two-year hiatus.
Unfortunately, a wrench was thrown into the Bengals’ plans when quarterback Joe Burrow left the game with a toe injury. Now, the Bengals have gotten the official diagnosis and recovery timline, but it’s bleak.
“ESPN sources: Bengals QB Joe Burrow will need toe surgery that will sideline him a minimum of three months,” reported ESPN’s [Adam Schefter before following up with how the Bengals are responding to the situation.](https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1967568906400522604)
“The Bengals have been calling around to other free-agent quarterbacks since after Joe Burrow’s injury, knowing they will have to add at least one more to their roster.”
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Kirk Cousins is the only guy I would entertain See if Atlanta is willing to take some of his contract,” one fan added.
“He’s so brittle. Get out there and play a full season for once,” someone else said of Burrow.
“Smart move by the Bengals. With Jake Browning stepping up for the win, adding QB depth like Jimmy Garoppolo or Tanner McKee makes total sense to keep the 2-0 start rolling,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Bengals manage without their star player.
