The Golden State Warriors reportedly rejected a trade offer from the Kings that included Malik Monk and a first-round pick in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga.
As the 2025-26 NBA season approaches, most rosters are nearly complete, with the top remaining free agents being signed.

However, some players have yet to secure their long-term futures — including Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, whose status with the franchise remains uncertain.
Contract talks with the restricted free agent have stalled, fueling speculation about a possible trade. The Sacramento Kings are reportedly seen as a leading candidate to acquire the 22-year-old.

That said, the Warriors are not expected to part ways with him cheaply. In fact, they have already turned down an offer from the Kings that would have brought former Laker Malik Monk to Sacramento.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Warriors rejected a trade offer from the Kings that included Malik Monk and a first-round pick in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga.
“The Warriors had shut down sign-and-trades, steadfast all offseason in declining frameworks of Royce O'Neale and second-round compensation from the Phoenix Suns or Malik Monk and a future first-round pick from the Sacramento Kings," Charania reports.
Last season, Kuminga averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over 47 games (10 starts, 24.3 minutes per game).
Other sources suggest Kuminga may end up playing on the qualifying offer for the 2025-26 season, a one-year deal worth $7.9 million, before testing unrestricted free agency in 2026.
