Largie Ramazani undone by Raphinha and injury problems - Leeds United loan watch

Leeds United failed to score again at the weekend, fuelling the angst among some supporters about the summer transfer window.

Daniel Farke had called in vain for more attackers to arrive before deadline day, having already seen a number let go on loan. The only forward to get on the scoresheet so far is Lukas Nmecha, and that was from the penalty spot.

As it happens, this weekend was not a happy time for United’s loanees either, with none recording wins and some failing to even get onto the pitch. Here is how each got on after the international break.

Largie Ramazani

The winger featured for 33 minutes in Valencia’s 6-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Catalan derby. Among the scorers for the home side was Raphinha, who scored twice to take his tally for the season to three goals in four matches.

This was Ramazani’s second appearance for Valencia, having come off the bench to grab an assist late on against Getafe on debut prior to the international break. He had failed to get any game time in United’s opening two games before departing.

Isaac Schmidt

Schmidt did not get off the bench in Werder Bremen’s 4-0 thrashing of Borussia Monchengladbach. The Swiss had scored on debut against Bayer Leverkusen before the pause but has yet to start either of the two games since arriving.

Joe Gelhardt

Gelhardt played 77 minutes for Hull City this weekend in a 2-2 draw with Swansea City, meaning he has started four of his five Championship outings. He has mostly been deployed as a number 10, or attacking midfielder.

The striker has managed to score two goals in his Championship games so far, and also grabbed an assist in the League Cup. He is seen a regular starter at the Tigers.

Charlie Crew

Fresh from his home international debut for Wales, Crew played 23 minutes in Doncaster Rovers’ 3-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic in League One. He has started three of his five outings.

Max Wober

Wober has yet to play in the league for Werder Bremen after picking up injury following the opening cup game of the season. The defender is out with a hamstring problem, rather than the knee issues that plagued him last season.

Mateo Joseph

Joseph is due to play for Mallorca tonight against Espanyol. He has not yet scored for his loan club across three games and two starts, though two of the opponents were Real Madrid and Barcelona. A far cry from facing Derby County in his last league start for Leeds.
