Germany’s forward Isaac Bonga turned heads with his outstanding performance during the crucial moments of EuroBasket 2025.
Bonga played a key role, providing lockdown defense on opposing stars, most notably limiting Finland’s Lauri Markkanen to a tournament-low 11 points in a group-stage blowout victory.
His heroics in the final further cemented his reputation as an X-Factor. Bonga scored 20 points (4/7 2PT, 4/4 3PT) and grabbed 5 rebounds, accelerating speculation about his potential to earn an NBA roster spot—perhaps even as soon as next season.
However, reports indicate that his future with Partizan Belgrade is secured for at least the upcoming season.

Despite this, NBA star Franz Wagner believes Bonga has already proven himself worthy of another NBA opportunity.
“Yes, I do believe it, actually,” Wagner said after the semifinal. “I think he’s shown over the past couple of years that he’s an elite defender, shoots the three really well, and can make plays off the bounce too. So I think he could have a lot of teams interested in him.”
