**DETROIT** – The Motor City Cruise, NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today the club acquired the returning rights of center Charles Bediako and a 2026 International Draft Pick from the Grand Rapids Gold in exchange for the returning rights of forward Cameron Martin, the returning rights of guard Javante McCoy and a 2025 second-round pick (No. 50 overall).
Bediako, 7-0, 225, appeared in all 50 games for the Gold during the 2024-25 season, averaging 9.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 24.5 minutes per game. He holds career NBA G League marks of 8.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 21.8 minutes across 67 games with the Austin Spurs (2023-24) and Grand Rapids Gold. Prior to his professional career, the Brampton, Ont., native played two seasons at the University of Alabama (2021-23), appearing in 70 games and holding NCAA career averages of 6.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 19.3 minutes per game. During the 2022-23 season, Bediako helped lead the Crimson Tide to a 31-6 overall record (16-2 in SEC play) en route to an SEC Tournament Championship and a Sweet Sixteen run in the NCAA Tournament.
Martin was selected in the first round (No. 12 overall) by the Motor City Cruise in the 2024-25 NBA G League Draft. He appeared in 23 games with the club, averaging 8.4 points and 8.2 rebounds in 23.9 minutes per game.
McCoy spent the 2024-25 season with the Motor City Cruise after being acquired via trade in exchange for the returning rights of Jayce Johnson and Jaylen Johnson prior to the year. He appeared in 18 games and averaged 12.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23.4 minutes per game. The three-year NBA G League veteran holds career averages of 11.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 22.5 minutes per game.
