Joe Burrow injury update: Former LSU Tiger goes down against Jacksonville

LSU legend Joe Burrow has cemented himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Last season, Burrow led the league with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns. The Bengals are off to a 1-0 start so far this season, but Burrow suffered a lower body injury in Week 2 against the Jaguars.

With the Bengals trailing 14-7 in the second quarter, Burrow was moving around some pressure in the pocket before ultimately getting sacked by Arik Armstead. Burrow remained on the ground for several moments before receiving attention from medical personnel. He then needed assistance getting off the field and walking to the locker room.

According to the Cincinnati Bengals official X (formerly Twitter) page, Burrow is questionable to return against the Jaguars with a toe injury.

Unfortunately, injuries have been fairly common for Burrow so far in his NFL career. Burrow battled significant injuries in 2020 and 2023, and in just five seasons, has already been named AP Comeback Player of the Year on two separate occasions (2021 and 2024). But when healthy, he's as good as it gets.

Hopefully this injury isn't a major one and Burrow is able to return to action soon. Before the injury, Burrow completed seven of his 13 pass attempts for 76 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.
