Ruben Amorim is losing the confidence of his Manchester United dressing room. And the revelation could signal the beginning of the end of Amorim's troubled time as United boss. It's understood senior players have been left frustrated and confused by Amorim's refusal to change his tactics.
Amorim's approach to games and chosen style of play has become the hot topic of debate within the squad. And some players believe the Portuguese is hanging them out to dry, by continually asking them to fit into a system they are not able to adapt to.
Pressure is mounting on Amorim to get some positive results following United's woeful start to the new season. United supporters were left stunned following their side's pitiful performance in the 3-0 defeat at derby rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
United have won just one game this season - and also crashed out of the Carabao Cup to minnows Grimsby Town.

Amorim needed a strong start to win over his critics - but has overseen the exact opposite. Amorim took charge 10 months ago but has endured a miserable time at Old Trafford.
In total, he has won just eight of 31 league games. Last season was United's worst in the Premier League era, with the fallen giants finishing the campaign down in 15th place.
Amorim has been backed in the transfer market this summer, with United bosses spending almost £240m on new talent. And despite United showing no signs of improvement, Amorim insists he remains determined to do things his way.

But Wayne Rooney has waded into the debate, insisting United have got worse since Amorim replaced the sacked Erik ten Hag. The United legend said: "I don’t think anyone can understand and comprehend what is going on.
"I want to be as supportive and positive as I can be on the manager and the players, but it is very difficult to sit here and say we are seeing progression. It is hard to see how it continues. What are the patterns? What are we seeing what might improve the team moving forward?

"We have to be honest, as the fans are not fools. Frankly, it's not good enough. It is hard and very difficult at the moment. It is tough to watch and to see.
"I hope it works massively for Amorim. From everything I hear, he is a good person and a good fella, but we need to start seeing that. I think if the manager is honest with himself, it has got worse."
United denied the squad had lost confidence in Amorim and claimed he still had the backing of the players.
