Burnley are set to sue Everton for £50m, according to reports, as the Clarets seek compensation after their Premier League rivals were found in breach of the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules (PSR).
Back in November 2023, Everton were handed a 10-point deduction by the league for the breach, which was subsequently reduced to six points after an appeal. But, had the points deduction been applied to the previous season, the Merseyside club would have found themselves in the relegation places, while Burnley would have escaped the drop.
The case is set to begin this week at the International Dipute Resolution Centre in London. According to The i Paper, Burnley are seeking in excess of £50m in compensation.
