Eddie Howe may need to rely on William Osula at Newcastle United over the coming weeks and months.
Osula almost left Newcastle United on transfer window deadline day but eventually remained at the club as third-choice striker.
However, an injury to Yoane Wissa has reopened the door for the 22-year-old.
Osula is now Nick Woltemade’s main back-up and will be for the foreseeable future, with Wissa expected to miss around a month of action with a knee problem.
While Woltemade made a fine start to his Newcastle United career by scoring on his debut, the German cannot be expected to play every minute of every game.
With that in mind, Howe could need to call upon Osula during a busy period of action while Wissa is out.
Still, the Newcastle United manager will no doubt hope to see an improvement from his display against Wolves.

Eddie Howe had to remind William Osula to press against Wolves
The Danish U21 international replaced Woltemade just after the hour mark on Saturday.

Osula didn’t do much to impact the game, although it must be said that Newcastle appeared to be conserving energy for Thursday’s huge Champions League game against Barcelona.
Interestingly, according to The Chronicle, Howe was having to remind Osula to trigger the team’s press a couple of times during his cameo against Wolves.
The report adds that Osula may struggle to convince Howe he has the tactical acumen to play up front on his own.
William Osula set to have his wish granted by Newcastle United
It would be unfair to criticise Osula too much. He has only ever started one Premier League game for the club, and he is one of only three Newcastle players to have scored this season.
The former Sheffield United youngster enjoyed a strong campaign with the Denmark U21s at the European Championships too, scoring three goals in four games.
Following that strong showing, Osula confirmed he wanted regular first-team football.
“I just need playing time to show what I can do. It means something to me,” he said back in June.
“I already know… Only myself and my father know what I can do. When playing time comes, everyone will see what I can do on the pitch.”
At least part of that wish could be granted by Howe in the next few weeks. It’s up to him to take his chance.
