More NFL:Commanders Make Roster Move After Austin Ekeler Injury
According to a recent report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson will be out indefinitely after suffering a groin injury.
"Bears Pro-Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson is out indefinitely with a groin injury, sources tell me and [Courtney Cronin]," Schefter said on social media. "The team still is evaluating the full extent of the injury, whether surgery is necessary, and how long Johnson will be sidelined."
"Johnson exited the second quarter of the Bears loss to the Lions after sustaining the injury while breaking up a pass. He missed all of training camp, the preseason and Chicago's opener with a groin injury before returning and reaggravating it Sunday. He now is out indefinitely."
Hopefully, Johnson will be able to make a swift recovery and get back on the field soon.
Johnson first joined the NFL after the Bears selected him with the 50th overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Since then, he has more than made his mark in Chicago as one of their best defensive players.
In his first five seasons with the Bears, Johnson has started 70 games and recorded 214 combined tackles (11 for loss), seven interceptions, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
Johnson has been named to the NFL Pro Bowl in 2023 and 2024 and was a second-team All-Pro in 2023.
