Mikel Arteta has revealed he would sign for Rangers FIFTY times over after what his time in Ibrox did for him personally.

The now Arsenal boss spent two seasons in Glasgow after a period in France with PSG.

He admits he was very happy during his 18-month loan stint in the French capital and made no secrets of his desire to extend his stay.

However, matters out with his control meant that couldn't happen and after facing Rangers in the Champions League, two things really stood out to him that made it a no-brainer once the Light Blues came calling.

The Gunners gaffer - speaking to Ally McCoist with TNT Sports - insists his two years installed value and learning in him that set him up for the rest of his career.

He explained: "I was very happy in Paris. I did a year and a half there and wanted to continue.

"Something happened around the club and we could not make it happen.

"That period in the Champions League we went to Glasgow and played against Rangers. I could not believe what I witnessed and experienced.

"So two weeks later they came to San Sebastian to start talking to my agent, my father and then to me.

"I said, 'listen I want to live experiences' I felt a manager and sporting director who were really convinced. I said, 'If I want to become one of the best midfielders, I am going to have to adapt to different contexts and circumstances'.

"I would do it again 50 times, the same decision.

"What I lived those two years there. Just to live the culture, the passion of football. It gave me so much value and learning for the rest of my career."
