The real reason why Phil Foden was 'shouting' at Bruno Fernandes during the Manchester Derby -…

Phil Foden and Bruno Fernandes were spotted arguing during Manchester City’s comfortable 3-0 victory against Manchester United.

The Manchester Derby tends to be an intense game every season due to the historic rivalry between both clubs as both sets of players always seem up for the battle.

Foden got the better of Fernandes on derby day, as much like the Red Devils captain, the 25-year-old also spent much of his time in central midfield but he thrived unlike the latter.

The Manchester City midfielder also got on the scoresheet by scoring a terrific header to open the scoring for his boyhood club.

It was after Phil Foden’s first goal of the season that he started quarrelling with the 30-year-old.

Foden proceeded to bite back at Fernandes, with Paul Hirst saying: “And Foden was just like shouting stuff back at him.”

“I’d love to have, you know, to have known what was said between those two, but he just doesn’t shy away from a battle, Foden.”

The Englishman had every right to do so as well, considering all he had done is celebrate after scoring on derby day.

However, Foden suggested Fernandes is better than him after choosing the latter over himself when asked to pick the superior player.

On the pitch, things often get heated between players but Fernandes acknowledged Manchester City outplayed Manchester United in the aftermath of the contest as well.

After their brief scuffle, Foden and Fernandes did not get into any other arguments.

On the day, the Stockport-born technician and his City side came out on top.
