Monday afternoon, Richard Pitino and Xavier kicked off their 2026 recruiting efforts when four-star shooting guard Kalek House committed to the Musketeers.
Currently ranked No. 143 in the country, the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder from Phoenix (Ariz.) AZ Compass Prep is somebody with great bloodlines that Pitino is quite familiar with. House's father Eddie House won an NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics. His older brother Jaelen House played for Pitino at New Mexico and was a multiple time All-Mountain West selection and the conference's Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. His twin brother Kaden House is ranked in the To-40 of the senior class.
Clearly, he comes from good stock. But what stands out about Kalek? We turned to Pete Kaffey, his coach at Compass Prep, to get started.
