Horrible Jayden Daniels injury confirmed

The Washington Commanders are extremely excited about what the future has in store with reigning offensive rookie of the year Jayden Daniels, who led the franchise to the NFC Championship in his first season in the league.

Unfortunately, Daniels and the Commanders have gotten off to a pedestrian 1-1 start to the 2025 season. Making matters even worse is new reporting that Daniels is dealing with a knee injury suffered in last Thursday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers.

“Source: Commanders QB Jayden Daniels suffered a knee injury last Thursday during Washington’s loss in Green Bay. His availability for Week 3 against the Raiders is unknown,” [reported The Athletic’s Diana Russini.](https://x.com/DMRussini/status/1967656908040572939)

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Daniel’s having a knee sprain could significantly limit him in running game,” one fan noted on Twitter.

“Sprain is essentially a tear, just depends on the severity of the tear. They don’t have a bye week until Week 2 so do you spot start Mariota and hope 2.5 weeks is enough recovery time or do you play JD? Schedule isn’t getting easier,” someone else added.

“Pretty wild after the investments in the OL this offseason, Jayden gets hurt in week 2 on a scramble. Just shows you that the game in unpredictable,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Daniels is forced to miss a significant chunk of time.
