Arsenal have a few contract decisions to make over the coming weeks and months as they eye the Premier League title this season under Mikel Arteta

The Gunners bounced back from their 1-0 loss to Liverpool before the international break in style against the Reds. They have won three out of their first four Premier League fixtures this season. The London outfit will be looking to keep their momentum going in their upcoming games.

Arsenal contract latest regarding Bukayo Saka and William Saliba

According to TBR Football, Arsenal believe they are making ‘good progress’ regarding new deals for Bukayo Saka and William Saliba. They are keen to tie down the key first-team pair to extensions. They are two of their most prized assets at this moment in time.

Journalist Graeme Bailey has shared this update: “(Andrea) Berta believes Arsenal’s summer plans have highlighted to both players that they are in the right place to fulfil their ambitions.

“The pair will both receive significant wage increases upon completion of their deals, and are understood to have been impressed with what Arsenal have done over the summer. Berta wants both done before the summer, but is believed to want both signed and sealed ahead of the January transfer window.”

Keeping hold of Saka and Saliba for longer would be a massive boost for the Gunners. They both missed their recent win over Nottingham Forest due to injury. Arteta will be hoping that they are back as quickly and as safely as possible.

When will Bukayo Saka and William Saliba be fit for Arsenal?

Arsenal winger Saka remains sidelined for the time being. He was left out of England’s squad for their most recent World Cup qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia. The Gunners won’t take any risks with him and will slowly ease him back into the fold, with a return later this month the most likely outcome.

Arteta has said: “Bukayo’s out, still out and he’s trying to get back as quick as possible, but we need to respect that process. He’s evolving really well, with very specific work at the moment, and the moment we increase that load, let’s see how he reacts.”

Elsewhere, William Saliba has returned to training and is close. Fellow defender Ben White is back though and was on the bench against Nottingham Forest. Their head coach said: “Willy trained today (Friday) so we’ll have a decision to make whether we play him or not, very good news. The rest (trained) as usual, and Ben White as well, Ben’s OK.”

Saka is a crucial member of Arsenal’s attacking department and securing a new deal for him will be a big positive if it happens. He can cause problems to any defenders at the top level and likes to cut in on his left foot from the right. As for Saliba, he is a rock at the back for the Gunners and is a solid option.
