Charlotte restaurant roasts Panthers after back-to-back losses

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A Charlotte restaurant known for its humorous sports-related signage roasted the Panthers on Monday following back-to-back losses.

Dilworth Neighborhood Grille‘s most recent memo on Monday, Sept. 15, was directed at Carolina’s tough loss to the Cardinals on Sunday, Sept. 14.

“Better but not good,” the sign read.

Previous Panthers-related signage

Earlier this year, when the Eagles won the Super Bowl, the restaurant attempted to instill hope that the Panthers’ defense could have a Philly-like turnaround.

“If [the] Eagles D can go from 30th to 1st, so can we,” the sign read.

The Eagles’ defense ranked 30th during the 2023 season, allowing 428 points and 6,054 yards.

In 2024, Philadelphia’s defense had an incredible revival, allowing a league-low 4,732 yards and only 303 points. For context, Tennessee’s defense allowed the second-least amount of yards with 5,291.

The Panthers, meanwhile, had a historically bad defense in 2024, ranking dead last in yards allowed with 6,877.

Not to mention, the Panthers allowed 534 points this season -- the most in NFL history.
