The Los Angeles Rams are off to a 2-0 start to the 2025 regular season after beating the Tennessee Titans, 33-19, in the second week.

The defense had another strong performance, as they held the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Cam Ward, to 175 passing yards and a single touchdown. The Rams were able to sack Ward 5 times in the matchup and currently have 8 sacks on the season.

One of the biggest performers for the Rams after two games is EDGE rusher Byron Young, who currently has 3 of the Rams’ sacks this season.

Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski named the defender a winner after Week 2, after Young’s performance in Week 2.

“Rams edge-rusher Jared Verse entered the season with a lot of hype after winning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. But two weeks into the 2025 campaign, it’s batterymate Byron Young who is generating hype with his play on the field,” Sobleski wrote. “In last week’s win over the Houston Texans, Young had nine total tackles and a sack. The third-year pro was just getting started—in Sunday’s victory over the Tennessee Titans, Young was again a force, logging five total tackles, a pair of sacks and a forced fumble.”

Young is currently tied for fourth for the most sacks in the NFL this season, only half a sack behind the top three leaders.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that he believes Byron Young’s performance in the season opener against the Houston Texans was his best game, but after Week 2, McVay believes Young’s game against the Titans was better.

“I thought he took his game to the next level,” McVay told reporters after the win (4:35). “I thought his pursuit, you see when Ward’s able to extend plays, [Young’s] got the speed to be able to track him down. I think he made the game-changing play where he forces the sack fumble.”

“Byron Young was outstanding. It was cool to be able to give him the game ball. He said it was his first one. So I’ve been shortening him for a couple of times because he’s deserved it before…”

Alongside leading the team in sacks, Young also leads the team in tackles for loss with 3. The EDGE rusher currently has 14 tackles in the season, which is tied for fourth most on the team.

The EDGE rusher received a 90 overall grade from Pro Football Focus for his performance in Week 2.

The Los Angeles Rams will face one of their toughest matchups of the season when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles, a rematch of the 2025 NFC Divisional Round.

LA was close to winning the game in the final minutes before turning the ball over on downs, losing the game, 22-28.

Byron Young will have his hands full with the Eagles’ offensive line, who are seen as one of the best in the league. In two career games against Philly, Young has yet to record a sack against quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The Rams are seen as a Super Bowl contender and if they were to pull off a win against the Eagles, it would make a clear statement of good the team is.
