Chicago Bears All-Pro out for season

The Chicago Bears are not off to the start they envisioned when they brought in former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to be the team’s next head coach. After games against two divisional opponents, the Minnesota Vikings and the aforementioned Detroit Lions, the Bears are 0-2 to start the 2025 campaign.

Now, things are getting even worse for Chicago, according to one of the league’s premier inisders.

“Bears Pro-Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson is out indefinitely with a groin injury, sources tell me and (Courtney Cronin). The team still is evaluating the full extent of the injury, whether surgery is necessary, and how long Johnson will be sidelined.

“Johnson exited the second quarter of the Bears loss to the Lions after sustaining the injury while breaking up a pass. He missed all of training camp, the preseason and Chicago’s opener with a groin injury before returning and reaggravating it Sunday. He now is out indefinitely,” r[eported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter](https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1967635432306266562) on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Well good thing we rushed him back before he was healed,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Brutal setback for Jaylon and the Bears. He fought to get back from the first groin injury, only to aggravate it again. Losing a Pro Bowl corner like him indefinitely is a huge blow to that defense,” one fan added.

“Groin injuries don’t lie – you either heal them completely or they come back worse. Johnson missed all of camp, debuts in Week 2, and now he’s out indefinitely,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see what this means for the rest of Chicago’s season.
