Cincinnati Bengals Have Already Explored 1 Intriguing Quarterback Trade

The Cincinnati Bengals are once again facing a nightmare scenario when it comes to superstar quarterback Joe Burrow.

In Week 2 action against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he went down with a toe injury and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game. It has now been revealed that Burrow could miss at least three months due to the injury. He could end up missing the rest of the season.

Due to the severity of the injury, it seems likely that the Bengals will look into adding another quarterback. Jake Browning is currently viewed as the replacement for Burrow, but he might not be the right guy to lead the team.

Already, Cincinnati has looked into one potential trade option that would bring a potential starter onboard.

According to a report from Easton Butler of Packer Report, the Bengals have called the Green Bay Packers about quarterback Malik Willis.

Willis would be a very interesting addition for Cincinnati. When Jordan Love went out last season due to injury, the young quarterback was able to step in and play admirably. He kept the Packers winning football games and showed that he has starting potential.

During the 2024 season as a whole, Willis played in seven total games. He completed 74.1 percent of his pass attempts for 550 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, while also running for 138 yards and another score.

At 26 years old, Willis could offer the Bengals a long-term backup option. Browning could end up being the guy the team sticks with and keeps around to back up Burrow, but Willis is an intriguing option.

It’s also important to note that Willis would not have to be kept past the 2025 season. He could simply be acquired to be another option alongside Browning.

Expect to hear more coming out of Cincinnati about a new quarterback being acquired or signed. Willis is a name worth keeping a close eye on after this report.
