Nuno Espirito Santo has been linked with the West Ham job just weeks after being sacked by Nottingham Forest but he’s not alone.
If West Ham were not already sounding out managers to replace Graham Potter, it seems they are in the wake of the meek 3-0 defeat by Spurs.
Losing heavily at home to Tottenham will put pressure on a Hammers manager at the best of times.
But especially when that manager has won just six of his 24 games in charge and has the worst win ratio since the last man to take the club down.
The jury was out on Potter heading into the new Premier League season after an underwhelming first six months in charge of West Ham.
Pressure piles on Potter as replacements linked with West Ham
Three woeful defeats in the opening three games reportedly had Potter on the brink ahead of the trip to Nottingham Forest.
But the Hammers pulled off a shock 3-0 win which meant theories he would be sacked over the international break were not tested.
That result gave Evangelos Marinakis the perfect excuse to sack Nuno Espirito Santo after an irreconcilable fallout between the pair over Nottingham Forest’s new sporting director Edu.

All West Ham’s good work at the City Ground was undone against Spurs, though.
Another heavy defeat saw another mass walkout at the London Stadium, where Potter has won just two games since his arrival in January.

The manner of the defeat to bitter rivals Tottenham, where West Ham showed an unacceptable lack of fight, has set alarm bells ringing in the boardroom.
That’s if speculation since is anything to go by.
With Hammers fans planning protests against the board, including before the game at home to Palace this weekend, the pressure is mounting as relegation looks a distinct possibility.
While most fans blame the owners for the club’s mess, a growing number are questioning whether Potter is the right man for the job too.
His tactics, team selection and ideas have been heavily criticised. There are also concerns from supporters over a perceived lack of leadership.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s stance on West Ham job revealed
Match of the Day’s panel described Potter as looking ‘baffled’ on the sideline when things aren’t going to plan.
The panel also stated Potter looks like he doesn’t have the answers.
Speculation ignited that West Ham want sacked Forest boss Nuno to replace Potter.
The Portuguese ticks a big box for David Sullivan in that he is a free agent, an approach the owner has been criticised for by fed-up fans.
But he’s not the only manager the Hammers are reportedly eyeing.
Now Nuno Espirito Santo’s stance on the West Ham job has been revealed as the board ‘host’ another manager.
Many managers choose to take a break from football when they are sacked or leave a club.

The good news for West Ham, if they are forced to axe Potter, is that Nuno is not one of them.
A new report claims Nuno is eager to get straight back into a job elsewhere and, crucially, is prioritising landing a Premier League club.
Sports Boom state Nuno does not want to wait for a return to management following his sacking by Nottingham Forest and amid the links with West Ham.
However, Nuno is not the only manager being considered by the Hammers according to reports.
The West Ham board is alleged to have hosted Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna at the Tottenham game as they weigh up their next managerial appointment.
The story seems somewhat far-fetched.
Board ‘host’ McKenna as Palace becomes must-win for West Ham
But the likes of Claret and Hugh and other sites have covered the claim since.
McKenna was reportedly on West Ham’s shortlist to replace both David Moyes and Julen Lopetegui.
After leading Ipswich to back-to-back promotions, McKenna could not keep them in the Premier League.
The Tractor Boys have endured a tough start to life back in the Championship, winning just one of their five games so far to sit 14th in the early running.
Hammers News understands there would be a ‘decent’ compensation price to pay to get McKenna out of Ipswich too.
On that basis alone it can probably be ruled out.
West Ham welcome Palace to the London Stadium on Saturday in what looks like a must-win for Potter.
It seems Nuno will be watching on with interest given his desire for a quick return to the Premier League.
And it won’t be easy for the Hammers with Palace on a record run of 10 games unbeaten.
