Nuno Espirito Santo could be battling Wolves in the bottom half as links to Premier League…

Former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo was relieved from his duties at Nottingham Forest, but he might be making a swift Premier League return.

It came as a shock when Nuno Espirito Santo’s relationship with the Forest higher-ups deteriorated after last season’s resounding success.

Nuno was sacked last week, and already he is garnering attention from one struggling Premier League club.

That’s according to Alan Nixon, who reports interest from a side down at the depths of the league table with Wolves.

West Ham’s Premier League campaign hasn’t been much better than Wolves’.

Graham Potter has been in the hot seat at West Ham after a run of poor results stretching back to the end of last season.

West Ham currently reside in 18th place, having picked up just one win from four. If they do pull the trigger on sacking Potter, Nuno is an option they are interested in.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

The Portuguese manager has troves of experience with 184 games in the English top flight. He wants to stay in England and the state of things at West Ham could offer that opportunity.

If he gets the appointment, he will once again be a direct rival at Wolves, with the Hammers looking like they’ll be a bottom-half side this season.

A Nuno Wolves return

There have been murmurings of doubt around Vitor Pereira’s position as Wolves manager, and Nuno’s availability has certainly stoked those claims.

But Pereira is dealing with significant change after a summer of exits and many new faces coming into the side.

On results alone, questioning the manager makes sense. This is Wolves’ worst start to a Premier League season in the club’s history.

However, Pereira has shown enough to suggest his managerial skills aren’t the issue. His results since taking over speak for themselves.

As much as Wolves fans love Nuno, the manager occupying his former post is an excellent one who deserves the chance to turn things around.
