Sir David Beckham has sent one clear-cut message to all Manchester United players after the Manchester derby defeat at the Etihad to Manchester City on Sunday.
The 50-year-old Manchester United legend made an appearance on CBS Sports Golazo and was asked for his immediate feelings on Sunday’s Manchester derby.
Manchester City walked away from the first Manchester derby of the 2025-26 campaign with the ultimate bragging rights, with United’s rivals winning 3-0.
Pep Guardiola watched on from the Etihad’s technical dugout as Phil Foden broke the deadlock for City, with the England midfielder heading home a first-half opener.
City strengthened their lead going into the second half after Erling Haaland put his side 2-1 up, with the Norwegian striker later returning to complete his superb brace.

Presenter Kate Scott had asked the Red Devils legend if he watched the Manchester derby and Beckham did not hold back his feelings about what he saw at the Etihad.
Beckham insisted that Manchester United’s players will now know the ‘unwritten’ rule for the next “few weeks,” which will mean ‘not going out’ and bumping into fans.
“I would hope that they are hurting like we are as fans.”

“I did watch the derby,” he said, before adding: “Yeah. Not really [if he wants to talk about it], but I will.”
“[…] Today, in all honesty, being an ex-player and a fan of the club, I would hope that they are hurting like we are as fans.
“And I’m sure they are because they’re professionals. They’re not going out there not wanting to win the game.
“You know, they’ve just come up against a team like City at City and whenever you lose these games, you know you don’t go out for a few weeks because you know you can’t walk around Manchester and bump into United fans because it’s just not a good place to be in, but I don’t know, it was a very hard watch yesterday.”

David Beckham makes a powerful point about being a Man Utd fan and seeing the 3-0 scoreline against Man City at the Etihad
United’s defeat to City in the first match in the post-international break has seen the Red Devils slip to 14th place in the Premier League table after four fixtures so far.
Pep Guardiola’s men, on the other hand, have climbed to eighth place after picking up their first Premier League win since the opening weekend of the 2025-26 season.
Beckham sent out a spine-tingling sentiment as a United fan and the former England captain pulled no punches against the Premier League club’s current team.
“And like I said, as a United fan, I’m kind of fed up, you know, watching these games and seeing what we’re seeing as fans,” he continued.
Following United’s loss to City on Sunday, Ruben Amorim will now see his men return to Premier League action on Saturday at Old Trafford against Chelsea.
