Packers get company in elite 2025 club after Week 2 Chargers-Raiders

The Green Bay Packers’ defense has put opposing defensive coordinators on notice after two games in the 2025 NFL regular season. Green Bay put the handcuffs on the Detroit Lions’ attack in Week 1, with Jared Goff and the two-time NFC North division champions scoring just 13 points in total. In Week 2, Green Bayheld the Washington Commanders to only 18 points.

More specifically, the Packers did not allow either the Lions or the Commanders to find the end zone in the first half.

Up until Monday night, Green Bay was the only team through games to have not given up a first-half touchdown on the season. They are now joined by the Los Angeles Chargers, who stymied the Las Vegas Raiders in a Monday Night Football matchup at Allegiant Stadium.

Even with Micah Parsons still trying to fully acclimate to his new surroundings following the trade from the Dallas Cowboys, the Packers’ stop unit has been stout and devastating. They have allowed just an average of 15.5 points and 238.0 total yards per game, thus far in 2025.

The likes of Rashan Gary, Devonte Wyatt, Edgerrin Cooper and Parsons have been spelling trouble for opposing quarterbacks, while Keisean Nixon, Evan Williams andXavier McKinneyhave stepped up for the secondary. Green Bay’s defense will be tested again in Week 3, when it plays the Cleveland Browns on the road.
