Ruben Amorim’s torrid time at Manchester United seemingly has no turning point after the latest derby defeat and Ben Foster has made a big claim about his job security.
After the 3-0 loss to Man City, Ruben Amorim’s team are 14th in the league with one win in four, courtesy of a late penalty against newly-promoted Burnley.
Over his whole tenure, the club have earned 31 points from 31 league games. There’s nobody with a worse record in the current Premier League’s 17 teams.
Questions over his job security are bound to pop up, and even though Ineos seem fairly committed to Amorim as of now, former United man Ben Foster has made a big claim.

Ruben Amorim’s job security at Man Utd
It is undeniable that any other manager in Ruben Amorim’s position would have been sacked by now.
Ineos are backing their man to the hilt because, in many ways, he’s the personification of the new regime and a symbol of their decision-making.
However, that can only get you so far when the results trend over the past year genuinely inch towards potential relegation.
With the fixture list not getting any easier, it’s not an exaggeration to say that United will find themselves in the relegation zone by the end of the final international break in November if the current trend continues.

Ben Foster, speaking on his YouTube channel, has claimed that nobody wants to commit to it and that things are already rumbling at Old Trafford.
He said: “It’s already rumbling. It’s already there. It’s been rumbling for a long time. Nobody just wants to really commit to it.
“But I guarantee you, if, after eight games, they’ve got eight points and they’re still in 14th or 15th position, somebody’s gonna have to pull the trigger because it can’t carry on like that because it’s been proven now. It’s nearly a year since he’s been the manager. It won’t work.”
Judgement stretch coming up for Amorim
Man Utd’s fixture list to start the season was the toughest in the league, but even in the absence of results, performances can be a crutch to carry hope.
After the bright start against Arsenal, that crutch has become weaker and weaker and reached a point where there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.
The next game at home against Chelsea looks like a must-win right now because an away trip to Brentford following that has never been a happy hunting ground for United.
Amorim needs to stay unbeaten in the next three, winning at least two, to calm the nerves, because United will resume action after the next international break with an away trip to Liverpool.
It’s a slide that needs to be arrested immediately because it has the potential to snowball into an unmitigated disaster otherwise.
