The New York Jets suffered one of their most embarrassing defeats in recent memory in Week 2, getting absolutely dominated by the Buffalo Bills in a 30-10 blowout that proved to be quite the letdown following the team's encouraging Week 1 performance.
The Bills outgained the Jets 403-154 in total yards while limiting them to a single red zone appearance. Starting quarterback Justin Fields completed just three passes before exiting with a head injury in the fourth quarter.
But just when it seemed the embarrassment couldn't get any worse, former Jets receiver Elijah Moore decided to twist the knife even deeper.
Moore turned his former team's embarrassing loss into ultimate humiliation by scoring his first touchdown as a Buffalo Bill and celebrating with backflips during victory formation as the game mercifully came to an end.
Moore finished the game with one catch for 31 yards and two rushes for six yards, the second of which he waltzed into the end zone for a garbage-time touchdown to extend his team's lead to 30-3. It was his most notable contribution with his new team to date.
After the game, Moore was honest about his motivation facing his former team.
"I mean, I can't lie. Whenever you play an old team, I think that every player would want to do his best and step up that game, because at the end of the day, it didn't work out."

Elijah Moore added insult to injury in the Jets' Week 2 humiliation
The Jets originally selected Moore with the 34th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft with the belief that he would be a cornerstone of their offense for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, he'd last just two years in New York before being shipped to the Cleveland Browns.
Moore became increasingly frustrated with his role in the Jets' offense, particularly after the team selected Garrett Wilson in the first round of the 2022 draft. Despite the Jets being in the midst of a three-game winning streak, Moore publicly requested a trade in the fall of 2022.
The Jets held onto him until the end of the season, but by that point, the relationship had become untenable. Moore was traded to the Browns, where he found moderate success as the team's starting slot receiver over the following two seasons.
The Ole Miss product signed a one-year deal with the Bills this offseason and impressed enough during training camp to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. Moore has played just 26% of Buffalo's offensive snaps through the first two weeks, but naturally, he found a way to make his mark against his former team.
His backflip celebration during victory formation provided the perfect exclamation point on a revenge performance that epitomized the Jets' struggles. Watching a former draft pick literally flip with joy over the Jets' demise was just another painful moment in a horrid afternoon for the organization.
