Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal has missed training again today, throwing further doubt that he’ll be available for the clash against Newcastle United.
[That’s according to Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/lamine-yamal-entrena-crudo-newcastle-121619733), who confirm reports that Yamal is not training with the group and faces a ‘tough time’ to be ready for Thursday’s clash with Newcastle United in the Champions League.
The newspaper explains that Yamal ‘remains on a tight leash’ at Barcelona after he picked up an injury on international duty with Spain. He already missed Sunday’s win over Valencia with the problem.
He missed training on Monday, casting doubts about his inclusion for the Newcastle game, and Sport say the chances are now lower given he also missed Tuesday’s session. He didn’t train with the group, even in sessions outside.
Indeed, he arrived to training later than his teammates as he wasn’t required to work on the pitch. Barcelona’s policies state that injured players don’t have a set time to go to the gym, they can go later, and that was the case for Yamal today.
The winger is ‘practically ruled out’ for the Newcastle game, although Barcelona are avoiding writing him off completely. The likelihood is that he won’t be a part of the squad, who will travel to Newcastle for the game and train at the Magpies’ facilities on Friday morning afterwards before heading back to Barcelona.
The question is whether Yamal is included in the travelling group or is left at Barcelona’s Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to continue his conditioning with the Barça physios and coaches.
