Wrexham have been tipped to sack Phil Parkinson after a slow start to the new season. For Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, there are some good potential options out there.
Wrexham find themselves slumped in 21st place of the Championship table after the opening five games of the season, with just one win to their name so far.
Last time out, Wrexham lost 3-1 against QPR and shortly after full-time, it was reported that Wrexham are considering sacking Phil Parkinson.
Should Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac decide to go down that route then these are the five managers they should consider, and who they could realistically tempt to the Racecourse…

Five managers who could realistically replace Phil Parkinson at Wrexham
Nuno Espirito Santo
Nuno Espirito Santo might be the most ambitious name on this list. But if Wrexham offered him enough money then he’d surely be intrigued by the project, as we’ve seen this summer with so many quality players arriving at Wrexham.
Nuno has just been brutally sacked by Nottingham Forest despite guiding them to a 7th place finish last season, but he’s already being linked with a return to the Premier League, with West Ham thought to be interested.
Nuno career stats Games Wins Draws Losses Win %
Wolves 199 95 49 55 47.74
Tottenham 17 8 2 7 47.06
Nottingham Forest 73 28 20 25 38.36
Gary O’Neil
Gary O’Neil could be a safe pair of hands for Wrexham, and a very realistic potential appointment too. The former midfielder made a decent name for himself in management during spells with Bournemouth and Wolves, with a 31% win rate from 100 games as a manager so far.
He may have to step down to the Championship to find his next gig and Wrexham could be perfect.

Sean Dyche
Former Burnley and Everton boss Sean Dyche made a name for himself as a no-nonsense manager who boasts a similar style of play to Wrexham, in that it focuses in direct and physical football.
Dyche could actually be a good replacement for Parkinson as he could get the best out of this current team which is designed for his type of football, whilst bringing his Premier League pedigree to the table.

Ralph Hasenhuttl
Once linked with the Manchester United job, Austrian boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is out of work after leaving Wolfsburg at the start of summer, though he’s best known in England for his time at Southampton.
Hasenhuttl achieved an 11th place finish with the Saints in the 2019/20 Premier League season which was a huge achievement at the time. Dropping down to the Championship doesn’t seem wholly unrealistic from Hasenhuttl who also counts RB Leipzig among his former employers.
Hasenhuttl career stats Games Wins Draws Losses Win %
Ingolstadt 04 95 36 34 25 37.89
RB Leipzig 83 40 19 24 48.19
Southampton 173 59 41 73 34.10
VfL Wolfsburg 44 17 9 18 38.64
Michael Carrick
Manchester United legend Michael Carrick stepped into management in 2022 with Middlesbrough, lasting three years at the club until this summer where he left with an impressive 46.32% win rate in charge.
What’s next for the 44-year-old remains to be seen. But we could expect to see him back in management sooner or later, and likely in the Football League somewhere.
