Virgil Van Dijk breaks out huge wooden spoon as he promises to lift lid on conversation he had…

**Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk wants to keep the Newcastle United drama alive even after the Premier League champions finally get their man.**

All summer long, the saga involving Newcastle United, Liverpool and Alexander Isak dragged on, bringing the mood on Tyneside down with it.

Even after the £125 million transfer went through, it took a long time for the dust to settle, and by virtue of the fact that I'm writing this right now, it clearly still hasn't settled fully.

And now, Virgil Van Dijk has made sure that drama will stay relevant for a good while yet.

Virgil Van Dijk will spill the beans on what was said at Wembley in a couple of years

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the full-time whistle blew at Wembley, signalling that Newcastle United were the Carabao Cup champions, Van Dijk and Alexander Isak embraced on the pitch and appeared to have a little conversation, which has since been speculated to be around the upcoming summer and Isak's desire to move to Liverpool.

Given how everything panned out, and given that the game was the last time Isak actually tried while wearing a Newcastle shirt, it seems like a safe bet. Now Virgil van Dijk has been asked what was said, but the Dutchman remained silent for now, saying he'll tell all at a later date.

> “I'm not telling you! \[laughs\]”.

>

> “Maybe in two years' time or three years' time, I will tell you. But not now. I can't remember!”.

Make your mind up, Virgil

-------------------------

So, which is it, Virgil? You can't remember, or you'll tell us in two years? I don't know about you, but my memory of things tends to fade the longer things go on, so how do you expect that you'll suddenly remember what was said in two or three years?

It's blatant crap stirring by the Liverpool captain and by whoever it was who asked him the question in the first place. Although it's hard to blame the journalist for doing their job, Van Dijk could easily have just said he didn't remember and left it there, but adding that bit at the end is pure outhousery.

We may not know exactly what was said, but it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to work out what it was about.
