Week two of the NFL season is in the books, and former Georgia football stars shined all across the league. But there is one Bulldog in particular who had a solid game for the Houston Texans on Monday night, and his touchdown run will bring a smile to every UGA fan.
Nick Chubb scores first TD of the season in crucial moment
Nick Chubb very well might be the most beloved Georgia Bulldog over the past decade. He embodies exactly what it means to be a Bulldog, both during his time at Georgia and throughout his very successful NFL career.
Unfortunately the last few years have been riddled with injuries that have kept him sidelined for large portions of the season. His latest injury came last season which ultimately led the Cleveland Browns to move on him from him after a seven year career with the franchise.
Chubb was able to find a new landing spot as he signed a one year deal with the Houston Texans. Chubb may not be the Texans starter, but he has made an impact already as he has totaled 103 yards on 25 carries so far this season.
But Monday night Chubb scored a critical touchdown late in the fourth quarter that gave the Texans the lead with two minutes remaining. This touchdown was a big milestone for Chubb because it marked his first time finding the end zone since his season ending injury in 2024.

Unfortunately for Chubb and the Texans, this was not the game-winning score as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers marched down the field and scored to win 20-19.
Regardless of the outcome, it is nice to see Chubb find some success in the NFL again. The obvious hope now is that he will remain healthy all season long, because if he does he could work his way back to being one of the best running backs in the league.
