**Everton FC launch the ‘Everton Women’s Hall of Fame’, a new initiative designed to celebrate and honour the players, coaches and pioneers who have shaped the history of the women’s team and game.**
The five inaugural inductees will be confirmed ahead [of Everton’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against London City Lionesses](https://www.eticketing.co.uk/evertonfc/EDP/Event/Index/1228?position=1) on Friday 19 September at Goodison Park.
A selection panel – featuring representatives from former coaches and players, Everton supporters’ groups, journalists, the Everton Heritage Society and Club officials – were responsible for drawing up a shortlist before selecting the first names to be honoured.
Each inductee will be immortalised at Goodison Park, with their images displayed prominently within the premium areas at the stadium as well as on the Club’s website. They will also be invited to attend the London City Lionesses match, where they will be officially welcomed onto the pitch in front of supporters.
**Hannah Forshaw, Chief Executive Officer of Everton Women, said:** _“The launch of the Everton Women’s Hall of Fame is a hugely significant moment in our journey. Everton Women has produced and been home to some of the game’s most iconic players and characters and it is only right that we recognise their innovations, contributions and exceptional performances by ensuring they are celebrated for generations to come. Goodison Park, our new permanent home, provides the perfect stage to honour our very own legends.”_
**Julie Makin, Chair of the Everton Women’s Supporters’ Club, added:** _“As supporters, we have been privileged to witness so many incredible players wear the Everton shirt over the years. The Hall of Fame is a fantastic way to pay tribute to their achievements and ensure their legacy is kept alive for both existing fans and new generations discovering Everton Women.”_
**Rob Sawyer, Everton FC Heritage Society, commented:** _“Everton Women have played an integral role in the history of the women’s game in this country. The Hall of Fame is an opportunity to shine a light on the pioneers and trailblazers who have helped shape the team and Club we know today and inspire so many. The Everton FC Heritage Society is honoured to play its small part in celebrating that legacy.”_
