Sergio Aguero has told Jack Grealish he has a great chance to realise his potential at Everton. The England international has made an instant impact since joining the Blues on a season-long loan from Manchester City during the summer transfer window.
Grealish has registered four assists from three league starts and was named Premier League player of the month award for August. The 30-year-old had fallen out of favour at City under Pep Guardiola and, by his own admission, had fallen out of love with the game.
But it has not taken long for Grealish to get back to playing with a smile on his face as well as earning the affections of the Everton supporters.
And Aguero, speaking via Stake.com, said: “It’s been a fantastic start for Jack Grealish, for sure. Everton stand to profit from a player like Jack [Grealish], and he, in turn, will have a great chance there to realise his potential.”
Speaking following the Blues’ 0-0 draw with Aston Villa at the weekend, Michael Keane admitted it was on him and his team-mates to get the best out of Grealish.
"We have got to get the ball to them as much as we can," the centre-back said when asked about the former Villa man and Iliman Ndiaye.
"They're our dangermen. We are lucky to have them, and we need them to keep playing the way they are."
Blues boss David Moyes played a key role in getting the transfer over the line in the summer and, speaking last week, claimed there is still much more to come from Grealish.
“The accolade of getting player of the month is a big thing, this is a boy who didn’t get it when he was at Man City, didn’t get it when he was at Aston Villa,” he said.
“It just shows you he’s stepping back up. I genuinely believe he has another two or three levels to go. I think he has more to come as well.
"I want to keep pushing him a bit and challenging him to keep doing it. He’s been assisting and we want him to score goals on the back of it as well, if we can.”
While speaking after Saturday's game, Moyes admitted: "Jack is giving us great balance and it is giving the whole team confidence. Hopefully, we can continue that."
