First update on De Cuyper after he was sent crashing at Bournemouth

Max De Cuyper is not expected to face a major absence for [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/) after being shoved into a board at Bournemouth.

But he is a doubt for Tottenham Hotspurs’ visit to the Amex on Saturday.

A leading source in Belgium understands De Cuyper has escaped serious damage to his knee.

He was pushed into an advertising board by Antoine Semenyo at the Vitality Stadium and stayed down in pain.

The Belgium international had treatment off the pitch and did not have time to get back into position before Bournemouth scored their first goal.

He was replaced by Ferdi Kadioglu soon after.

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler confirmed both De Cuyper and Jack Hinshelwood would have scans after the game.

Nieuwsblad in Belgium, concerned about a key member of the national team, report there is no serious damage for De Cuyper.

Their update read: “Tests have shown no serious damage to his knees. In fact, the intention is to take it easy for the match against Tottenham this weekend, although it's not yet certain whether De Cuyper will make it. A long absence, however, is not on the cards.”

Kadioglu performed well after taking De Cuyper’s place against the Cherries.

Hurzeler will give an update on Friday which is also likely to include news on Mats Wieffer and the opposite full-back position.

Joel Veltman has played in the last two matches with Wieffer sidelined.
