Bears vs Lions: Winners and losers from week 2

Another week and another embarrassing loss for the Chicago Bears as they were dominated 52-21 against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

This was the first meeting that Ben Johnson had returned to his old stomping grounds and well, the results were not pretty. The Bears were outplayed and outmatched in every facet, whether it was in the trenches, coaching, or special teams. While the Bears were able to keep things competitive in the first half, the second half was a completely different story as the offense struggled to get out of its own way, while the defense let the Lions march up and down the field at will with little resistance. It was similiar to what we saw in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, as well.

In this edition of winners and losers, I will be honest, it was difficult to find any meaningful positives from this one.

That's especially the case on the defensive side of the ball, as that unit put up an all-around disastrous performance. Injuries played a role in the Bears' demise on defense, but that can only explain so much. At some point, you would expect some players to step up and that just wasn't the case. On the flipside, there were some players who stood out in a positive way on the offensive side of the ball despite a very uneven performance from the group as a whole.

Let's break down the biggest winners and losers from the Bears' latest loss. Make sure to check back with the Bear Report for complete coverage of the Bears 2025 season.
