The NFL offense rankings are the glamour list of the top football league in the world. While laying the smackdown on defense is great, scoring with the rock is the name of the game. The top squads in Sportsnaut’s NFL defense rankings may help determine who wins a championship to some, but the offense is what puts butts in seats and draws monster ratings on television.
With the 2025 season finally here, let’s take a look at who the best and worst NFL offenses are heading into Week 1 of the new season.
1. Buffalo Bills (LW: 1)
nfl offense rankings

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills‘ offense were one of the best in the league all of last season by using a total team effort, smart play, and a balanced attack. It is why the QB won his first MVP award. All of the pieces from last season are back this year, and they should be very good again.
In NFL Week 2 against the Jets, they showed the diversity of their offense when they still scored 30 points despite Josh Allen having an off day. It didn’t matter because James Cook picked up the slack with 132 yards and two TDs on the ground. The Bills’ offense is the most underappreciated in the NFL.

The Baltimore Ravens‘ offense was one of the league’s elites last season. They delivered a balanced attack led by 2024 MVP Lamar Jackson and backed by future Hall-of-Fame running back Derrick Henry. They will bring all the key pieces of the unit back in 2025 and add former Texans great DeAndre Hopkins.
After a slow start in Week 2, they looked outstanding in the second half against the Browns as they put up 31 in the final two quarters. While Henry was held in check, Jackson delivered with a 4 TD performance through the air as Hopkins picked up his first touchdown in Baltimore.

The PhiladelphiaEagles’ adding Saquon Barkley last year proved to be a paradigm shift moment in the NFC. The former Giants star delivered an MVP-caliber season in his debut and gave them one of the most balanced units in the league. There is no reason not to expect them to be elite again in 2025.
While they haven’t been dominant in their first two outings this season, the Philly offense has done what was needed to get two wins to start the year. Nevertheless, Jalen Hurts’ average performance (252 passing yards combined after two weeks) to begin the year is something to keep an eye on.

4. Detroit Lions (LW: 7)

The Detroit Lions’ offense was the cream of the crop for much of last season. They could throw over teams but also bludgeon them with a solid run game. However, many wonder if they can maintain that elite play without former OC Ben Johnson.
After an underwhelming showing last week, the Lions fans know where back on Sunday as the offense dropped 52 on Johnson and the Bears. Goff only missed on five of his 28 passes as he threw for 334 yards and five TDs.

5. Los Angeles Rams (LW: 5)

If Matthew Stafford’s back doesn’t end his season early, the Los Angeles Rams offense the talent around him — see Puca Nakua and Davante Adams — to lead one of the best offenses in 2025. But that is a big if in the 2025 season.
After an average showing in Week 1, the LA offense looked like the group we expected when they dropped 33 points on the Titans. Stafford threw for just under 300 yards, and Adams had his first day with more than 100 yards receiving as a Ram in Week 2.
6. Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 6)

With Jim Harbaugh as head coach, the Los Angeles Chargers‘ offense relied less on the passing game and aimed to be a more balanced group. In the offseason, they further bolstered their run game by adding veteran lineman Mekhi Becton and underrated running back Najee Harris. Along with bringing back Mike Williams and drafting Omarion Hampton in Round 1, the Chargers’ O has a lot of potential in 2025.
After looking really good in Week 1 versus the Chiefs, they continued that momentum with a rock-solid performance in another win on Monday night, this time over the Raiders. Justin Herbert was sound and efficient (19-27 for 242 yards and 2 TDs), and four different receivers had 30 or more yards in their 20-9 win.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 4)
nfl offense rankings

Baker Mayfield’s career renaissance with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been one of the best stories in football over the last two years. However, running back Bucky Irving added balance to the offense last season, and it is part of why this unit is one of the best in the game.
However, over the first two weeks of the season, the Tampa offense has not been as electrifying as many expected. Mayfield has been unspectacular, but he has also been mistake-free and clutch, so despite an average showing to begin the year, the offense has played a big role in the team’s 2-0 start.
8. Green Bay Packers (LW: 11)
nfl offense rankings

More was expected from this unit, led by Jordan Love and star running back Josh Jacobs, in 2024. However, the Green Bay Packers’ offense was not among the elite last season. However, after adding big-play receiver Matthew Golden in the NFL draft, there are big expectations in 2025.
So far, so good as they posted 27 points apiece in both of their first two games. They have benefited by working with an elite defense and make the most of the strong field position they often get. Tucker Kraft was the star of Week 2 as the tight end had a career-best 124 receiving yards.

Last season was a wash for the Dallas Cowboys‘ offense after Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury in Week 10. However, big things are expected from the unit in 2025 with him back healthy and big-play threat George Pickens joining the unit.
After an okay performance in their Week 1 loss, the Cowboys’ offense came to life against the Giants. CeeDee Lamb had another 100+ yard day, and Javonte Williams’ 97 yards on the ground were a nice bonus during a wild 40-37 shootout win on Sunday.

10. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 13)
Brock Purdy

The San Francisco 49ers will bring back the same unit as 2024, sans Deebo Samuel. However, they will also be without WR1 Brandon Aiyuk for the first month of the season. Once healthy, the 49ers offense has top 10 potential.
While they looked good in Week 1, Brock Purdy got banged up and was forced out of their Week 2 clash with the Saints. However, Mac Jones played great in his spot. Throwing for 279 yards and three TDs on the day. Jauan Jennings also chipped in with 89 big yards through the air in a 26-point performance this weekend.
11. Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 9)
NFL power rankings

There are signs that the Kansas City Chiefs offense’s best days are behind it. They were not as formidable in 2024, as their receivers were less impactful, and Travis Kelce is in a big career decline. Suspensions and injuries to the WR corps are also reasons to expect some struggles early in the season.
After a so-so performance in Week 1, KC’s offense had a tough time making progress against an elite Eagles defense on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes did all he could, including 66 yards and a TD on the ground, and he had them in position to take the lead late. But another key bungle by Kelce ended that drive and set up another loss this weekend.

12. Indianapolis Colts (LW: 19)
nfl offense rankings

After Daniel Jones beat out Anthony Richardson for the Indianapolis Colts’ starting QB job, there is hope they can be far better in 2025. Jones did have a pretty good season three years ago, and he will also have an elite RB, as well as nice weapons like Michael Pittman Jr. and first-rounder Tyler Warren this year.
After a great performance in Week 1, the Colts’ offense again showed out as Jones threw for over 300 yards and Jonathan Taylor destroyed the Broncos’ defense on the ground to the tune of 165 rushing yards. While they needed a little luck to get the W, they wouldn’t have had a chance without a second strong week from the O.

13. Washington Commanders (LW: 10)
nfl offense rankings

Top pick and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels was everything the Washington Commanders’ offense could have hoped for and more in 2024. The young star was a huge reason they were on the cusp of a Super Bowl appearance. Now with Deebo Samuel as another weapon and Terry McLaurin happy following a big pay bump, Washington is primed to be a top-five offense in 2025.
Over the first two weeks of the season, Washington’s O-line has been tested and has shown leaks. That was the case in Week 2 as the Packers’ furious pass rush battered Daniels, sacking him four times and limiting him to just 217 total yards. It was a day to forget as they managed 18 points in a decisive loss to Green Bay.

14. Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 8)
nfl offense rankings

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense were hampered by injuries and the lack of a reliable run game last season. In the offseason, they doubled down on their pass game when they gave both Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins huge extensions to lock in what should be one of the best passing attacks in the league (when healthy).
However, their 2025 aspirations were put in serious trouble when Burrow suffered a toe injury that will knock him out for months. Chase’s 165 receiving yards powered them to a 31-point showing in Week 2, but this group could fall out of our top 10 soon.

15. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 15)

The Atlanta Falcons’ offense made the right move in 2024 when they moved on from expensive free agent addition Kirk Cousins to make Michael Penix Jr. their new starting QB. He showed signs of his potential late in 2024 and is a key reason why the Falcons’ offense has top 10 potential this year.
After a quiet game in Week 1, Bijan Robinson showed why he is one of the best young backs in the game with a dominant 143-yard performance against the Vikings on Sunday night. Tyler Allgeier also chipped in with 76 yards on the ground as Atlanta literally ran their way to a big win over Minnesota.
16. Denver Broncos (LW: 17)
nfl offense rankings

After some early-season struggles with rookie QB Bo Nix, the Denver Broncos’ offense got much better in the second half. Setting up a 2025 campaign where they have the potential to be a top-10 unit.
They didn’t look great in Week 1. However, they bounced back against the Colts in Week 2 with a 28-point showing. Nix was good as he connected on 22 of his 30 passes for 3 TDs, and they got 118 combined yards from the run game. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to overcome a late comeback and a bad penalty to beat the Colts.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 20)

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense is led by another QB well past his prime in 2025. This time, it will be league legend Aaron Rodgers. While they added DK Metcalf, they lost Najee Harris in free agency and traded George Pickens. If Rodgers plays like he did last year, Pittsburgh will struggle all year.
After a strong debut, Rodgers looked old in Week 2 as he threw 2 INTs and barely surpassed 200 yards passing against the Seahawks’ defense. Also, running back Jaylen Warren was completely shut down just days after getting a new two-year extension.

18. Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 22)
Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ offense was a major disappointment last season. Even when former No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence was available, they struggled. They hope for a turnaround this year with new head coach Liam Coen and the help of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
It wasn’t pretty again, but the Jaguars’ offense posted nearly 30 points again in Week 2. Lawrence had solid numbers as he threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns. However, in a close game, his two interceptions were key in a frustrating 31-27 loss on Sunday.
19. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 23)
nfl offense rankings
The Seattle Seahawks’ offense was a solid group in 2024. That should still be the case this year with Sam Darnold under center. Stud receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the undisputed No. 1 and will be backed up by former Pro Bowler Cooper Kupp.
After a rough day to open the season, they were much better on Sunday as they threw up 31 on the Steelers. JSN looked like a star as he reeled in 103 yards through the air, and Kenneth Walker rumbled to 105 yards and a TD on the ground.
20. Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 14)
NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders offense’s lone bright spot last year was the emergence of Brock Bowers as one of the best tight ends in the league. And he did that with a messy QB situation. However, they upgraded in the offseason by trading for Geno Smith and adding stud RB Ashton Jeanty in the draft. This group has the potential to make noise in the AFC West this season.
However, after a great day in Week 1, the Las Vegas offense and Smith had a night to forget on Monday. The veteran QB’s three INTs proved to be killer as they managed just nine points in a frustrating loss to the Chargers in Week 2.

21. Miami Dolphins (LW: 26)
NFL: Miami Dolphins at New York Jets
Credit: Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images
The Miami Dolphins’ offense disappointed in 2024 after QB Tua Tagovailoa missed much of the first half and top receiver Tyreek Hill showed signs he may be exiting his prime. On paper, they should be a formidable group in the AFC if they can stay healthy. But that is a big if.
After a disastrous day in Week 1, the Miami offense was much better on Sunday against the Pats. Tagovalioa (315 passing yards) and Hill (109 receiving yards) were their old selves as they helped the O put up 27. Unfortunately, it was not enough to outduel the Patriots this weekend.

22. New England Patriots (LW: 27)
nfl offense rankings

Rookie Drake Maye wasn’t the problem with the New England Patriots’ offense in 2024. Now, with some better pieces around him and Mike Vrabel in charge as head coach, there is hope for big improvements from the Pats’ offense in 2025.
NFL Week 2 was an example of that as the unit got a solid performance from every faced. Maye hit on 19 of 23 passes and posted two TDs, the run game racked up 122 total yards on the ground, and four receivers had 30 or more yards as they put up 33 on the Dolphins this weekend.
23. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 16)
nfl offense rankings
Credit: Brad Rempel-Imagn Images
The Minnesota Vikings’ offense will be one of the most intriguing groups to watch in 2025. After Pro Bowler Sam Darnold left in free agency, all the pressure is on 2024 first-rounder JJ McCarthy to prove Minny made the right move to make him the starting QB this year. He has some outstanding weapons in Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones, which should make life easier.
While he led a huge late-game comeback in Week 1, the young QB showed warts in their follow-up on Sunday night. McCarthy hit on just 11 of his 21 passes for 158 yards, and his two INTs were costly in an ugly six-point showing in Week 2.
24. New York Jets (LW: 21)
Syndication: USA TODAY
Credit: Kevin R. Wexler-NorthJersey.com / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images
New New York Jets head coach Aaron Glen has a major challenge ahead. While the offense has a couple of high-impact talents in Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, new starting QB Justin Fields did not look good this summer. If he can’t improve, Gang Green’s offense could be a bottom-10 group in our rankings all year.
After a great game in Week 1, the Jets’ offense fell back to Earth on Sunday. They were held to just 10 points, and Fields was banged around and eventually knocked out of the game with a concussion. Furthermore, they got nothing from Hall. It was the sort of day Jets fans feared heading into the season.

25. Arizona Cardinals (LW: 25)
Arizona Cardinals
Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images
The Arizona Cardinals’ offense has the pieces to be a pretty good unit. The big question is, will everything come together for them in 2025? Trey McBride had a breakthrough season, but unfortunately, last year’s top pick, Marvin Harrison Jr., disappointed.
In Week 2, the Cards offense was solid as they posted 27 in a win against the Panthers. Kyler Murray was efficient (17-25 for 220 yards), and McBride had a good day with 78 yards through the air. It wasn’t electric, but it was effective.
26. Houston Texans (LW: 18)
C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
Credit: Jay Biggerstaff-Imagn Images
Despite some high expectations after adding Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs last year, the Houston Texans‘ offense never really reached its potential during the 2024 season as CJ Stroud battled through a surprise sophomore slump. If he can’t return to the player he looked like in 2023, it will lead to a big shift in how good the Texans are projected to be in the years ahead.
So far, not so good. After an average showing in Week 1, the Texans’ offense had another middle-of-the-road showing on Monday night against the Bucs. The run game was limited to just 84 total yards, and Stroud was hounded by Tampa’s pass rush. Throwing for barely over 200 yards in their 20-19 loss.
27. New York Giants (LW: 32)
Malik Nabers, New York Giants
Credit: Bill Streicher-Imagn Images
The New York Giants’ offense has two outstanding players in Malik Nabers and Andrew Thomas. However, the rest of the unit leaves something to be desired. With head coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka in a win-or-be-fired scenario, they are hoping future Hall of Famer Russell Wilson can save their jobs in 2025.
After a forgettable performance in Week 1, Wilson turned back the clock with an epic performance against the Cowboys on Sunday. The 36-year-old threw for a whopping 450 yards and three TDs as the Giants’ O scored 37 points. It sadly wasn’t enough to get the win, but Wilson showed his potential in Daboll/Kafka’s offense.

28. Chicago Bears (LW: 24)
nfl offense rankings
The Chicago Bears’ offense looked good early in 2024 but went into a steady decline for much of last season. However, there are high hopes for Caleb Williams and the unit this year after bolstering the line and adding offensive guru Ben Johnson as their head coach.
In their first two games, the offense has posted over 20 points, but it has been an arduous task. That was the case in Week 2 as Williams hit on 19 of 30 for 207 yards and had a few impact moments. The bright spot in their blowout loss to Detroit was Roman Odunze’s 128 receiving yards.

29. Carolina Panthers (LW: 28)
nfl offense rankings
Credit: Kim Klement Neitzel-Imagn Images
Last season, Bryce Young showed growth. While he didn’t fill up the stat sheet, he gave Carolina Panthers management reason to believe the former No. 1 overall pick still can be the future of their organization. In the offseason, they landed the best receiver in this year’s class, Arizona star Tetairoa McMillan. On paper, this unit can be better.
The embattled QB was solid on Sunday as he threw for 328 yards and three TDs, but he needed 55 passes to do it. His two turnovers also played a big role in why they came up just short, 27-22, to the Cardinals. The key bright spot was rookie Tetairoa McMillan’s first 100-yard day in the NFL.
30. Tennessee Titans (LW: 29)
nfl offense rankings
Credit: Steve Roberts-Imagn Images
In 2025, the Tennessee Titans’ offense will have proven skill players in Tyler Lockett, Calvin Ridley, and Tony Pollard. However, they will also have rookie No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward running the offense. This will likely be an up-and-down season for the unit.
So far this season, it has been more down. While Pollard had a decent day (92 rushing yards) in Week 2 versus the Rams, their 19 points weren’t enough to keep pace with LA’s offense.
31. New Orleans Saints (LW: 30)
nfl offense rankings
Credit: Stephen Lew-Imagn Images
Despite speculation that rookie Tyler Shough would win the starting QB job, the New Orleans Saints begin the year with 2024 fifth-rounder Spencer Rattler back under center for new head coach Kellen Moore. With an offensive-minded coach and solid weapons in Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave, the NO offense has potential.
Some of it showed in Week 2 against the 49ers. Rattlers did not throw an INT and had 3 TDS. They also got 121 total yards from the ground game as they scored 21. It was a solid showing, but not enough to get the W against San Francisco.
32. Cleveland Browns (LW: 31)
Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns
Credit: Troy Taormina-Imagn Images
The Cleveland Browns’ offense begins 2025 without a couple of major pieces. Gone is Nick Chubb, and Deshaun Watson is still rehabbing his torn Achilles tendon. In their place are greybeard Joe Flacco and rookie Quinshon Judkins. While they added Jerry Jeudy, this offense is not expected to do a lot in the new season.
In Week 2, they struggled to move the ball against a tough Ravens defense. Judkins was solid in his NFL debut (61 yards on 10 carries), but Flacco looked very much like a 40-year-old journeyman QB on Sunday
