Report: Everton scouts set to watch 'one of Europe’s most exciting prospects' in action this…

Everton are sending their scouts out to find some potential transfer targets in this week’s Champions League games.

The summer transfer window was certainly a busy one on Merseyside, with David Moyes welcoming nine new faces through the doors.

Moyes was pleased with Everton’s transfer business, though.

It was always going to be a busy period for the Blues after so many players left Everton as free agents and at the end of their loan deals.

With the summer window now concluded, attention is already being placed in scouting out some new potential targets.

Everton are targeting a European finish this season, and the elite European competitions appear to be the level which Angus Kinnear and his recruitment staff are looking to do their business.

Everton to scout Atletico Madrid’s Daniel Fitzgerald

Already, it has been suggested that Everton are eyeing Omar El Hilali ahead of the January transfer window.

Moyes insisted not every need would be addressed in just one summer, given the extreme number of new signings needed on Merseyside.

Atleti are making the trip to Merseyside to face Liverpool in their opening game of the 2025/26 Champions League campaign.

It will be in the U19s game where Everton scouts will be in attendance to watch the exciting 17-year-old forward.

The report suggests Fitzgerald is currently ‘one of Europe’s most exciting prospects’.

Everton have already signed Tyler Dibling as a promising young winger for the present and the future.

But it seems as if Everton have a fresh focus on potentially adding even younger prospects who would arrive at Finch Farm with a lot of their game still to develop.

Everton must improve their academy products

The Friedkins backed Everton in their first summer window since they were handed the keys on Merseyside back in December.

A lot of new faces landed at Finch Farm, and there was some real quality added to the squad.

However, Everton will need to increase the number of players coming out of their academy that actually have an effect on the starting XI.

Harrison Armstrong wanted to fight for his Everton future, but the midfielder was sent out on loan to Preston North End for the season.

Ultimately, Everton brought in Merlin Rohl to replace Armstrong’s spot in the squad, and this may concern some fans.

There are very few players being produced on Merseyside that are actually having an effect on the first team.
