Viktor Gyokeres was left with blood pouring out of his head after a sickening clash.
Gyokeres, and Arsenal, were attacking a corner when the Swede leap up to head the ball. However, his team-mate Gabriel was also looking to win the ball and they collided in the air with a sickening clash of heads.
Both men immediately hit the turf at the San Mames, with Arsenal's new super striker clutching the back of his head in agony. Gabriel seemed to have escaped unharmed, but TV cameras caught blood pouring out the back of Gyokeres' head.
The clash happened just after the half hour mark, and there was a lengthy stoppage as physio's tapped up Gyokeres.
He was allowed to continue, now sporting a black headband, after concussion checks.
"He'll probably need some stitches after the match," one fan said after seeing the extent of the Swede's cut. While a second continued: "Concerned about Gyokeres' injury, that was a nasty bump!"
"Havertz last season and now Gyokeres...Arsenal strikers with blood dripping from their head," a third shared. As a fourth posted: "Not sure why Gyokeres is still playing with that injury in the head. Safety first before winning the game of football..."
