Viktor Gyokeres was left with blood pouring out of his head after a sickening clash.
Gyokeres, and Arsenal, were attacking a corner when the Swede leapt up to head the ball. However, his team-mate Gabriel was also looking to win the ball and they collided in the air with a sickening clash of heads.
Both men immediately hit the turf at the San Mames, with Arsenal's new super striker clutching the back of his head in agony. Gabriel seemed to have escaped unharmed, but TV cameras caught blood pouring out the back of Gyokeres' head.
The clash happened just after the half hour mark, and there was a lengthy stoppage as physio's taped up Gyokeres.
He was allowed to continue, now sporting a black headband, after concussion checks.

"He'll probably need some stitches after the match," one fan said after seeing the extent of the Swede's cut. While a second continued: "Concerned about Gyokeres' injury, that was a nasty bump!"
"Havertz last season and now Gyokeres...Arsenal strikers with blood dripping from their head," a third shared. As a fourth posted: "Not sure why Gyokeres is still playing with that injury in the head. Safety first before winning the game of football..."
And another added: "We don't need to risk anything here, get Martinelli on for Gyokeres and we should be fine!"

Gyokeres had been the bright spark of the first half for the Gunners.
Drifting into the channels, the Swede had managed the break the Athletic Club line to create a couple of opportunities for the Gunners. Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Paul Robinson said the Gunners had been the better side.
"Without having a huge attacking threat, Arsenal have looked comfortable in this first half," he said. "Athletic Club had the better of the earlier exchanges, created maybe one or two opportunities but didn't really trouble David Raya's goal.

"Athletic have looked the inferior opponents at time. Arsenal have looked strong and they're at their best when they play forward. Noni Madueke, for me, is the biggest threat.

"In Viktor Gyokeres they have a willing runner but he's not had enough service. I think there's more to come for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta will not be disappointed."
