Manchester United players should take a leaf out of Bryan Mbeumo’s book to help a struggling teammate against Chelsea this weekend.
After four games, Manchester United have made their worst Premier League start since the 1992/93 season.
Back then, the Reds staged a remarkable recovery to win the first of their 13 league titles, but a similar turnaround is far-fetched this time.
United have just four points on the board; losing to Manchester City and Arsenal, drawing with Fulham, and defeating Burnley; while also suffering an embarrassing Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town.
Pressure is mounting on Ruben Amorim, with his inflexible tactics and team selections drawing criticism. The challenge doesn’t get any easier, as United now prepare to host Chelsea at Old Trafford in their next league fixture.
United players must copy Mbeumo to help one star vs Chelsea
Benjamin Šeško started for the first time against Manchester City and struggled with the limited service on offer at the Etihad Stadium.
Gary Lineker described it as a ‘tough’ game for the 22-year-old, who showed some positives despite United being unable to create many chances in attack.
In Šeško’s appearances so far, Bryan Mbeumo has been one of the only players to regularly look for crosses into him. The Cameroon international knows that the young striker is dangerous in the air.
This is something that United players should look at – especially the likes of Patrick Dorgu, Amad and Bruno Fernandes – ahead of the game against Chelsea this weekend.
United need to dominate the ball more and then chances will eventually come for Šeško, but an increased number of quality crosses will also see him be able to fight for chances in the air, an area where he excels.
United players need extra quality vs Chelsea
This upcoming game against Chelsea will not be easy, and the Blues have a strong midfield with the likes of Cole Palmer and Moisés Caicedo in there.
As usual, United will probably look to build and attack from the flanks, but they need to start delivering quality balls into the penalty area too.

Dorgu had several chances to find Šeško in the box against City but either opted against crossing or failed to beat the first man with his effort. There needs to be that added quality which Mbeumo shows when he crosses the ball.
The Slovenian striker is likely going to start again and he will be desperate for his first goal in United colours. More importantly, the Reds need a win otherwise pressure will continue to build on Amorim.
