It's never easy to pick up an away win in the Champions League but Gabriel Martinelli and Leo Trossard came off the bench to secure victory for Arsenal in a hard fought match in Bilbao.
It was a dogged performance rather than the free flowing football fiesta we'd have hoped for but 3 points are 3 points and we'll take them anyway we can get them. It says a lot for the team that we can go into a game with injuries to key players but still come away with the win. Last season we were bringing on Sterling and Tierney, this season it's Trossard and Martinelli with our best winger still injured.
Raya 6 - I don't remember him doing anything of note which is a good thing.
Timber 8 - Put in the type of performance we're used to seeing from him.
Mosquera 8 - Looks like he's played for the club for years.
Gabriel 8 -Another decent display from our captain
Calafiori 7 - Not at his flambouyant best but played well
Zubimendi 6 - Never really got a hold of the game, not helped by the two lamp posts in front of him
Rice 5 - Once again, I thought he was poor. Managed the early booking reasonably well.
Merino 6 - Looked stretched at times but improved as the game went on
Eze 5 - Not in the game at all, somewhat isolated on the left. Madueke gave hin a tap in but he was on his heels
Gyokeres 6 - Battled hard, had one or two nearly moments
Madueke 6 - Best of our starting attackers. Could've been an 8/10 game but lacked the last action and that wasn't all his fault.
Subs
Trossard 9 - Assisted and scored in 25 minutes
Martinelli 9 MOTM - Scored and assisted in 20 minutes.
