PSR is something Leeds United fans will be tired of hearing in the next few months. It has become a staple when it comes to transfers at Elland Road.
The Whites last published accounts saw them record a turnover of £127.6million. And with Leeds in the Premier League now, they have to be careful of the limit or attract sanctions. It has been reported that if there are plans of any serious moves in January, some key players would need to be offloaded to create room within the financial books.

A document was leaked to the public this week, showing how Leeds’ ownership project the club to be worth £1billion by 2030. Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson said that sometimes clubs use PSR as an excuse to get other clubs to settle for cheaper deals:
“I’m not sure they wanted that document to be out in the public domain.” he told Football Insider.
“I don’t know how it did get out in the public domain, but it doesn’t really matter, to be honest.
“They’ll either agree the deals or they won’t, and people will have a view as to whether they can afford things or not.
“I think a lot of clubs over the years have said, look, we can’t do these deals because of PSR, and it’s been partly used as a trick to present a more conservative budget to try and direct people to say, well, we’ll settle for a lower amount, and they’ll have to do that themselves.
“I don’t think it’s a big deal having it in a pack that nobody will remember anyway in about three months’ time.”
Leeds United claim over PSR does not add up
During the international break, Leeds managing director Robbie Evans explained somethings about the transfer window to local media. One of his claims was that the club failed to land big names like Igor Paixao and Rodrigo Muniz because they maxed out PSR.
The claim does not really add up considering there were verified reports that Leeds did present huge offers for the players in question. This has some fans second guessing the club’s message through Evans.
