Baker Mayfield's 4th down angry run to beat Texans was the stuff of legends

Don't you dare ever count him out.

Don't do it, or he will completely flip the script on its head, just like he did on Monday Night Football.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield saw a wild fourth quarter where it seemed like neither team wanted to take control at times. The game went back and forth in completely odd and unforeseen fashion.

And then the Houston Texans pulled ahead thanks to a 25-yard burst from Nick Chubb (who's still got it, by the way). With just over two minutes remaining in the game, Baker and the boys took over with the mission clear: score a touchdown and win the game.

But first, Mayfield would have to fight through one of the more challenging down-and-distances he's faced: a 4th-and-10 from the Houston 31-yard line.

And then, he did this.

Gutsy call to go on 4th down deep in their own territory and Baker picks up the first!

With just over a minute and 20 seconds to go, Mayfield made one of those signature plays that won't soon be forgotten. It was truly a moment that had Bucs fans off their seats, pumping fists and screaming the tried-and-true, "LET'S GO!"

After the game, Mayfield couldn't help but throw a little shade in his postgame presser.

Baker Mayfield's 4th down angry run will go down as a career highlight for the Buccaneers QB

Following that run which had Texans fans in disbelief, of course, the Bucs would go on to win the game right before time ran out.

He just keeps making these moments come alive, doesn't he? Each time Mayfield does something spectacular or gutsy, his legend continues to grow.

It will never get old looking back at when he hit rock bottom, thought his career might have taken a downward turn he may not come back from, only to get this golden opportunity from the Bucs.

And he's taken full advantage of it. Baker has this fan base on his back. He has not only taken over for the greatest quarterback of all-time, but he's writing his own poetic story in unbelievable fashion. It's moments like this that continue to cement him as one of the better feel-good stories this league has ever seen.

For the Bucs, it might just be another win and on to the next one. But, for Mayfield and this fan base, it means a whole lot more. That run, right there, is as symbolic as it gets for a career that's finally found its upward trajectory.

On to the next one? Sure, but this play won't soon be forgotten.
