Blackpool and West Ham Under-21s opened their EFL Trophy campaigns by putting five goals past Barrow and MK Dons.

Preston Fearon and Callum Marshall both scored twice for the Hammers in their 5-1 victory at Stadium MK.

Meanwhile Blackpool, who are struggling in League One, thumped Andy Whing's Bluebirds 5-0 to ease a bit of pressure on boss Steve Bruce.

Scott Banks got a double for the Tangerines at Bloomfield Road, while there were also goals for Ashley Fletcher, Andy Lyons and Dale Taylor.

Elsewhere, Callum Robinson's second-half goal gave Cardiff a 1-0 win at fellow League One side Exeter, AFC Wimbledon scored two late goals to beat Crystal Palace's youngsters 3-1, and Ben Radcliffe netted a couple in Crawley's 4-2 win over Aston Villa Under-21s.
